Scavenge thru trash at night
Feeling guiltless, and powerful
Sharp claws

Very friendly
Resting, feeding, hunting
Very grateful and playful

Beguiled

A beautiful girl
happy and carefree
beguiled was she
by the man whose intentions unsure
refusing to take No for an answer
with his devilish charm, he was quite the romancer
believing his heart was pure
she let herself succumb
her devotion and love for him never enough
It was her soul that he was after
relentless for her capture
Revealed were his lies and crafty tricks
unable to leave, she was transfixed
saddened the girl fell ill
lost was her beauty, gone was her free will
along came two angels to the rescue
cloaked in a rainbow of colors and in a rare hue
bringing with them peace and tranquility
freeing the girl from her dungeon of misery
although the girl's beauty only partially gained back
she retrieved her soul fully intact
with the help of her two angels she can smile
lest she is beguiled.

POLITICIANS ARE NEAR
HELLO, THIS IS 2008, A NEW YEAR,
TIME TO COME OUT FROM UNDER THE FEAR,
I FAIL TO SEE ANY REASONS TO CHEER,
THE POLITICIANS ARE NEAR AND ISN'T IT JUST SO CLEAR THAT THEY KEEP US DIVIDED?
"DIVIDED WE FALL", IS WHAT OUR ILLUSTRIOUS ABRAHAM LINCOLN ONCE SAID,
WHY CAN'T POLITICIANS REALIZE THAT WE MUST WORK TOGETHER, EVERYDAY, FOR THE GREATER GOOD,
MAYBE, THEY DO, BUT SOMEHOW, IT SEEMS TO BE LOST IN HAVING OUR SOLDIERS DIE IN VAIN,
"HOPE" POLITICIANS SAY IS IN A WORD, CALLED "CHANGE",
"GOD"PLEASE KEEP US WHOLE AND NOT DIVIDED, THAT IS, IF ONE CAN REALLY BELIEVE IN PRAYER,
FOR, AS RIGHTEOUS, AS WE THINK WE ARE; WE FAIL MISERABLY IN THE "ACT", THIS NEW YEAR. WRTTEN 1-31-08 P. MONTOYA

Love Casualty

Love Casualty
by Raymond Chow
Tomoko--the blossom in my ragging sea--
Her ethereal countenance exudes an aura of beauty.
Reciprocity of affection burried in our psyche.
My depth and breathe of undeclared love for thee --
Illusions – delusions – our love was not meant to be
Love – untouchable – unreachable – interceded by loyalty
Forsake our love – unconsummated love’s casualty.
Pining on sideline, the pieces will not fall – just let-it-be.
Shared affection hidden from eyes of mind.
Fettered by thin strand of loyalty – at best.
Unfulfilled love pains withered on latent vine.
Her tender smiles drown love sorrows in my breast.
Love mortally wounded in sepulcher of my mind.
Memories of her compassion lingers – my solace at rest.
